Kai was able to work to and did work at the park. After work he got to meet up with his bestie Ash for some frisbee before the sun went down. He one happy boy this evening to get out of the house.
These two were Wednesday work dogs. Maui went to
Powder Mountain and Maleki went to K9 Fluent Dog Training. It is great that we have jobs we can include our dogs.
Luna had week two of agility and killed it on the tunnel this week. I'm so glad to be able to find something this girl really loves. Until next Monday we will see what happens then.
Last night we stayed in Pendleton, Oregon to get some rest. The dogs didn't realize the time changed so they had us up at 5:30am. We figured since we were up and awake we'd just get ready to head out.
Our first stop of the morning was Hood River a place I remember spending many summers with the family. We walked the dogs around the park and then found a really great coffee shop if you are that way stop at STOKED Roasters.
Stop two wasn't far from Hood River at the Vista House which has a great view of the river. Stop three was a awesome place called McMenamins Old Church and Pub. The outside area was dog friendly so we were able to have all the dogs out with us and enjoy a beer. After the pub stop we went to the coast.
We made it to the condo everything settled in and then went to my favorite Mo's Seafood & Chowder for the best Clam Chowder. After dinner the dogs got to play in the bay so now all dogs have seen and had their paws in the salt water. I love the coast so much I'm so excited to spend time with Ryan and the dogs in a place I have so many memories as a kid.
Since Kona passed away I knew I wanted a tattoo of his nose to have with me forever. For my birthday this year I finally had it done and I love it. After the tattoo was finished we went home loaded up the rental van and started our adventure to Oregon. I can remember as a kid going to the coast many times and seeing families with their dogs there with them and I thought to myself one day I will do that and it is happening. Sadly Bear will be staying home with his Aunt Shea as the long drive and the adventures are just too hard at his age. He will have a great time and years ago when he was young enough to enjoy it he played in the ocean in California.
We stopped at Twin Falls to let the dogs out and walk around a bit. Then we went to Boise and stopped at Barbarian Brewing for some awesome tasting beers before getting dinner and continuing on. We made it to Oregon and stopped for the night around 11pm. We got the dogs their food and headed to bed to get up in the morning to finish our drive to the coast. I'm super excited about this trip.
Kai, Luna, and Maui all got to play in the frisbee worldwide championships. We had Maleki signed up and the night before the event he decided to hurt his foot chasing the dog next door so we pulled him from the event.
The morning started out on the cold side and super wet but we still had a blast. Kai was on fire I guess he loves the colder weather. He took 1st place handler in the Plain City Region and he ended up #1 for the club points. Maui had a hard time playing in the rain and Luna well she just loves to run after the frisbee that is all. Love them all it was a blast.
In March Bear and Kai's birthdays fell right in the thick of Covid taking over. To buy flour to make a cake was a joke everyone cleaned it out. To go to the store to get them toys not happening everything closed! Fast forward to August we finally have their birthday with friends. Bear on the 17th of March turn 15 years old and still kicking it strong as ever. Kai on the 24th of March somehow became 2. Bear had a dinosaur themed cake and Kai had llamas. Our friend Rowdy also had a birthday in March we made up for and Ash was the end of September so it was a boys party and fun was had by all.
We took Kai and Maleki up in the gondola at Snowbasin to do the hike up at the top. It was a pretty straight up hike but once you get to the top the views are amazing. The dogs did great and next time we will make sure to go super early. We will go back for sure it was a lot of fun.
Maui, Maleki and their golden friends headed to the spiral jetty to get out. We haven't been out there since we took Kona. The dogs were happy to run out there and we were happy to be out. It was a perfect morning to be out not crowded and temps were not perfect. We will have to get the whole crew out this year. We love this place.
Took all five dogs to get their photo taken with Santa. The Santa at Station Park in Farmington is amazing. The dogs all did really good and I love how the photos with Santa turned out.
