We had a fun day on the lake with some of our local friends and friends from Colorado. Maleki came along to join the fun this trip. We hope that by next year we will be able to get the rest of the crew out on the lakes with us.

While our friends were in town working the DockDogs event we went and took a hike in the morning before the crazy week started. I met up with Charles and Sarah along with Maleki and Maui to take the amazing morning hike. It was a great day to start the day. On our way back down we ran across a deer. Then headed home to pack up the gear for the DockDogs event. The dogs were able to spend plenty of time on the dock and pool as there were not many competitors there. I was hoping for a slow day to work on some things with the dogs and we were able to do that. We also had fun with our friends. Both Maui and Maleki jumped under their titled division so they didn't get a placement. Kai finished off his Senior title. We packed up the kayaks and took them and Maleki up to Causey Reservoir for the afternoon. Ryan and Sarah were both brave enough to jump of the cliff. Then we went on a bit and we had to make a stop for Maleki after he peed then he decided to jump into Ryan's kayak as Ryan was swimming. I had to chase him down to get him and the kayak back lol We all had a good laugh at that and Maleki just thought he was cool enough to ride alone. It was great afternoon before the crazy few days of jumping starts. Last minute my friend Jen talked me into going to the Afton, Wyoming with her to jump some dogs. The dogs had a great time. We left super early had a beautiful drive up. We spent the day up there having a blast with the dogs. Maleki got a personal best in EV, Kai got a personal best in BA, Maui got a killer SR run and her 2nd might have ended up being a personal best she looked amazing but the lights stopped working so they went to manual. Oh well it's part of the game and the dogs don't care. All three made it to finals and did a great job. We would do that event again in a heartbeat. After finals packed up and went back home. We went out with friends to East Canyon Reservoir on their new kayaks with their dogs. We took Maleki out with us this time. Maleki did an amazing job even when he'd get up he wouldn't rock us he was very stable in it. He did end up out of it once but it was so easy getting him back in. Before we went out we ran into DWR and talked with him then got a picture to add to the law enforcement collection lol Leki didn't mind the new life vest at all and I really feel it fits better than any we have tried before. Now to get all the dogs one. This summer has really been a lot of fun spending time with family (human and dogs), friends and in the outdoors. I took Maleki and Luna to hike with some of our friends. We hiked up to where the pond is and when I came around the bend there was a mom and baby moose. I frozen for a minute then we moved out slow to make sure she was going to move on and not at us. Guess we didn't feel like a threat because they moved on and then we were able to enjoy the pond and it's views. |
