Road Trip Day Two

Last night we stayed in Pendleton, Oregon to get some rest. The dogs didn't realize the time changed so they had us up at 5:30am. We figured since we were up and awake we'd just get ready to head out.

Our first stop of the morning was Hood River a place I remember spending many summers with the family. We walked the dogs around the park and then found a really great coffee shop if you are that way stop at STOKED Roasters.

Stop two wasn't far from Hood River at the Vista House which has a great view of the river. Stop three was a awesome place called McMenamins Old Church and Pub. The outside area was dog friendly so we were able to have all the dogs out with us and enjoy a beer. After the pub stop we went to the coast.

We made it to the condo everything settled in and then went to my favorite Mo's Seafood & Chowder for the best Clam Chowder. After dinner the dogs got to play in the bay so now all dogs have seen and had their paws in the salt water. I love the coast so much I'm so excited to spend time with Ryan and the dogs in a place I have so many memories as a kid.

Road Trip Day One

Since Kona passed away I knew I wanted a tattoo of his nose to have with me forever. For my birthday this year I finally had it done and I love it. After the tattoo was finished we went home loaded up the rental van and started our adventure to Oregon. I can remember as a kid going to the coast many times and seeing families with their dogs there with them and I thought to myself one day I will do that and it is happening. Sadly Bear will be staying home with his Aunt Shea as the long drive and the adventures are just too hard at his age. He will have a great time and years ago when he was young enough to enjoy it he played in the ocean in California.

We stopped at Twin Falls to let the dogs out and walk around a bit. Then we went to Boise and stopped at Barbarian Brewing for some awesome tasting beers before getting dinner and continuing on. We made it to Oregon and stopped for the night around 11pm. We got the dogs their food and headed to bed to get up in the morning to finish our drive to the coast. I'm super excited about this trip.
